Restaurant Career

Posted on Posted in travel

Studies on the United States’ restaurant and food services sector have shown that the industry is one of the fastest growing, with the number of food managers touted to rise by around 45,000 annually starting the year 2014.

In fact, data from the National Restaurant Association attest to the fact that plenty of job opportunities are available for people both from within and outside the industry. It is for this reason that more and more people are getting interested and increasing their investment on restaurant and food services training and education.

What the Industry is About

The foodservice and restaurant sector covers areas such as catering, casual family diners, fine dining, chef-owned bistros, resorts and casinos, motels and hotels, cruise ships, fast food chains, theme parks, schools, company cafeterias, hospitals and just about wherever the preparation and selling of foodstuff is present.

To date, there are about twelve million jobs in this sector alone. It is one of the most widespread because food is a basic necessity. That’s why many entrepreneurs say you can never go wrong when you enter the food business. Food services exist in every city, state and country, from the most metropolitan of environments to the most quait and far-flung locations. Due to such, employment opportunities in the restaurant industry is always high.

A career in the restaurant and foodservices industry does not mean simply asking the customer if he wants a side of coleslaw to go with his chicken. It is more than that. You will also have to hone your people skills in order to properly interact with the customer, as well as practice stellar hygiene and good grooming. A restaurant that does not demand so from its employees is no good.

In fact, even without the restaurant owner telling you how to conduct yourself on the job, it is your personal responsibility to make sure that customers all satisfied, happy and very much keen on coming back.

What Sort of Training Do You Need?

Most hole in the wall restaurants start from scratch. That is, without the formal education and training to set up and operate such a business. Some of the older and pioneering institutions began from owners’ very own kitchens, without so much as a bachelor’s degree to their names and, still, their restaurants continue to grow and thrive with the times.

However, the industry is growing at around 12% each year and the demands of the customer are getting more and more cosmopolitan. While zero training can be offset by pure dedication and interest in the restaurant and foodservices business, there also are strong arguments in favor of acquiring the right education and formal training needed for the job.

Education is useful given the changing times. With globalization at an all-time high, it is important for those engaged in the food business to keep themselves up to date and knowledgeable with the latest trends. With travel and communications booming at an alarming rate, the restaurant sector has the responsibility to …

Francis Lewis: More Than Just a Signature

Posted on Posted in travel

Have you ever heard of Francis Lewis? Does the name Abraham Clark ring a bell? How about John Hart?

Some of you may have guessed that these are the names of three of the men who, along with 53 others, signed that most historic of all documents, the Declaration of Independence. But do you know their stories? In fact, do you know anything about any of those men who pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor for the cause of freedom? We all know about Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, but the majority of these forefathers of ours remain in obscurity for most of us, I imagine.

This shouldn’t be.

I believe with all my heart that those Founding Fathers with whom we are all familiar were destined by God Himself to be our Founding Fathers. I also believe that each of the 56 men who signed our Declaration of Independence were brought forth for that ultimate purpose. America was not a coincidence, not just the result of a sequence of events.

A man who became known as “one of New York City’s leading radicals” in the Revolutionary cause began his life as a preacher’s son in Wales. How did the young Welshman Francis Lewis, born across the ocean and educated in Scotland & London, become a founding member of the Sons of Liberty and a signatory of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America?

“… for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me… calling… the man that executes my counsel from a far country… “ (Isaiah 46: 9, 11)

A man who involves himself in the forging of a nation, whose heart and passion compel him to break away from safety and ‘security’ to answer the call of liberty, must be a man of a certain character. Certain circumstances in a person’s life can build such a character. It is significant to me that both George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, men extraordinaire, lost their fathers at an early age. They grew up without the supporting structure of a fully-orbed family, and I would surmise developed leadership qualities that may not have otherwise become a part of their personalities. The willingness to risk and to assume responsibility would be indispensable elements in a founding father. The loss of one’s earthly father early in life could surely contribute to the development of those characteristics.

Francis Lewis was an orphan by the age of 5.

Records do not appear to indicate just how he lost both parents so young, but he did, and thus entered the ranks of those stellar Founding Fathers who possibly led the way because they had lost their own fathers early in life.

Lewis was brought up by an unmarried aunt, who “saw to it that he studied in Scotland… and later attended the prestigious Westminster School in London.”  Lewis’ interests led him into the field of mercantile pursuits, and …

Lessons Learned From A Bucket List

Posted on Posted in travel, vacation

Do you have a wish list of things you want to do in your lifetime? Some might call this list a bucket list, courtesy of the popular 2007 comedy-drama movie “The Bucket List”. I created a list of things I want to do in my lifetime before I actually knew the term bucket list even existed. In fact, I have two lists, one is called my “travel wish list” and the other is “things I want to do list”. But they are both basically a bucket list only the travel wish list has an “accomplish by” date.

I have been encouraged by several friends to share this idea and what I have learned as it might inspire or help someone else.  I created both lists in my early twenties before I was married and had kids. While I realize not everyone likes to travel, I have learned the most thus far from trying to complete my travel wish list, so I am going to focus on that one and share with you my lessons learned.

As you might guess by the title, “travel wish list”, it contains all the places I want to visit, at least as of my early twenties.  Over the years I have added a few new places to the list but not many. The goal was to complete the list by the age of 50, which at the time seemed pretty far away. Now that I am in my 40′s, age 50 doesn’t seem too far away. With that said, over the last couple of years I have become much more strategic in my travels in hopes to check a city off of my list as often as possible.

I included about 26 places on my list. The plan was to complete the cities in the United States and the Caribbean by the time I was 50 and leave the international travel with no “accomplish by” date.  Here are some of my lessons learned from my travel wish list:

  1. Writing your goals down helps to keep you focused. Having places I want to visit written down has made it easier when I am planning a vacation. The same is true for any bucket list. If you have it written down it makes it easier for you to know exactly what you want to accomplish so when you have the time you already know what you want to do. It is a big time saver.
  2. Setting your intention is key. My intention when I created my travel wish list was to complete it by age 50. When we set an intention it prepares us and we are more likely to work towards the intention that was set even when we come across obstacles. I am happy to report that my intention of completing this list by age 50 looks pretty good.
  3. Look at your list. This is a critical piece. If you write your bucket list and never look at it then you might

Licensed Practical Nursing Schools :Tips

Posted on Posted in travel

Consider This many people are exploring the opportunities that are involved with nursing fast tracks like licensed practical nursing schools offer.

{Nurses have a great role to fill in when they are already practicing in the field. They are the connection between the patient and the doctor. Nurses are the ones that act out the orders of the doctors. They have close interaction with the patient and are the first person there whenever the patient needs assistance.

|Many people are having the dilemma of which nursing career to pursue when one earns a nursing degree. Prospects for nursing careers are great.

|Specialties in the nursing career abound. As soon as you earn your nursing career, you now have to decide which nursing career you will pursue. We are discussing some nursing career specialty to help you decide which nursing career you will practice in.

In a nursing profession it is important to receive hands on training. You will have to count on a certain number of class hours to be clinical, or hands on. The number of hours and how they are accumulated will vary by school and degree program.

{According to one survey, patients over 65 make up 60 percent of adult primary visits, 48 percent of inpatient hospital admissions and 85 percent of nursing home residents. By the year 2020 – less than 15 years from now – a study from Occupational Health and Safety Administration predicts that the need for registered nurses in nursing homes will increase 66%, for licensed practical and vocational nurses by 72% and the need for certified nursing assistants will increase by 69%. For nurses working in home health settings – which include ‘managed care’ nursing home settings – those numbers are even higher – well above 250% increase in nurses needed at every level of licensing.

|The Medical-Surgical Nurses provide basic health care to patients in all health settings. Radiologic Nurses on the other hand provide care to patients undergoing radiation procedures (like Ultrasonography or MRI) for diagnosis. They are also the nurses who help out in the treatment of cancer who uundergo radiation theraphy.

|Such positions include Case Managers, Forensic Managers (applying knowledge of nursing for legal enforcement, like treating and investigating a victim of assault or abuse and similar), Infection Control Nurses, Legal Nurse Consultants (assist lawyers in medical cases by interviewing patient, organizing records, and educating lawyers about medical conditions), Nurse Administrators, Nurse Informatics, Health Care Consultants, Public Policy Advisors, Medical editors and writers.

|With this great demand come many incentives to entice nurses to relocate, for example:

{Another required skill in many nursing professions is a basic understanding of medications and how they need to be administered. More and more patients are relying on their nurse to help them get well.

|One thing to consider is the traits of a good nurse. The skills required to be an effective nurse are not completely taught in the classroom. Some people have the natural talent to be in this field …

How to use Facebook

How to use Facebook?

Privacy concerns about Facebook are there since early days and they will be there forever. Not all of them are false. In the light of outrage over Facebook’s recent psychological experiment prompted me to write this small guide about judiciously using this social network. Almost everyone aware with this situation is worried about privacy and safety they can achieve using Facebook.

  1. Rule No 1. Never ever share your personal feelings on Facebook. There are lot of data harvesters those try to use your mental inclination to lure into buying something you do not want. And yes, it do not happen on Facebook. You are targeted using emails and other websites you least suspect. Keep your posts limited to your friends. In rare case you shall make your post publicly visible.
  2. Never share your private contact information. It can be clearly misused by some hyper excited marketing dorks, criminals or even by an phoney educational institution to ‘enrol’ you into something.
  3. Do not post personal photos. Especially photos of your kids and relatives. Most of the criminals use those photos to identify the target. In some cases, photos could be morphed and misused. Do not share location all the time. You can share location only when that is important to mention, like a restaurant where you are enjoying food.
  4. DO NOT share your contact book or photo album on your phone or iPad with Facebook. It may upload all the information to its servers, I do not trust Facebook here. It remains there forever even if you deactivate your account. You cannot ever DELETE your Facebook account. There is no such provision. There are other ways to almost delete your account, but again, you cannot tell your all files are really deleted. Facebook is notoriously dubious on this issue.
  5. Never be friends with unknown people. If you find a lady with curvy features who just have sent you a friend request, it is not your lucky day. You may be in trouble someday. Usually such profiles are con. Do not listen to any marketing or travel offers. Never shy to unfollow/block the one who do not give you pleasure, or give pain rather. Facebook is not mental tolerance test, you are here for fun, do not let anyone ruin your mood.

If you follow above five rules while using your common sense in right mixture, Facebook can be an enjoyable experience.…

Amazing Discovery for Enjoying Life More – Natural Relaxation

Posted on Posted in vacation

To really enjoy ourselves in life, we often feel that we have to do something special. We dine at a fashionable new restaurant, go to a party or see the latest movie. We seek out fun and new experiences as an attempt to free ourselves from stress, depression, worries and troubles.

Sarah McCrum, a relaxation expert at the Academy of Potential Education in New Zealand said that “soon, we find that these activities only give us temporary relief, an excited feeling that passes and not a long lasting sense of enjoyment that only natural relaxation can bring.”

After all this excitement and entertainment, we often feel tired or even exhausted. It is similar to a toy that uses batteries to work. Eventually after playing with the toy, the batteries run out and the toy stops working. This is similar to what happens to us when we rely on our own energy supply-energy from our body and organs, which is limited.

When we rely on our own energy supply, we get tired more easily. We find it difficult to enjoy ourselves and may even feel a sense of depression. To escape stress and recharge our energy, we often sleep, go on vacation or adjust our busy schedule. But these stress relief solutions are only temporary. What we need is to find new ways to constantly get more energy. When we have more energy, life is automatically more enjoyable.

Often, when we are doing any activity we are either thinking about what we are doing or thinking about something completely different. We might even start to worry. Frequently, we are unconsciously in a state of tension, and are simply not physically and emotionally at peace. As a result, we stop energy from entering and flowing through our body. And then our meridians aren’t open and relaxed, so we get tired and find it difficult to experience joy.

When we learn how to receive and flow with energy, we start to appreciate the world in a completely different way. When we are open, happy and experiencing natural relaxation, we can receive a higher source of life energy – quality energy that is light and fresh, making us more positive and glowing. Everything around us becomes brighter and more peaceful, and our experiences change for the better.

Everything we do is automatically more enjoyable because we have quality energy that gives us motivation and restoration. For example, sleep is more refreshing, music sounds more rhythmic and food tastes better. We are interested in the world around us and we have an inner confidence that we can solve our problems. We don’t worry or feel depression and we can enjoy being in the moment.

Perhaps you already knew that you need natural relaxation, but what is it, truly? Give yourself the time and patience to, explore, learn and practice. Give yourself permission to receive greater health, happiness and peace.…

Cheating and Infidelity: What to Look For…what to Do

Posted on Posted in travel

Suspicion of infidelity is a horrible thing.

It can cause insecurity, anxiety, fear, sleeplessness, depression, and can occupy your thoughts and mind all hours of the day and night.

You begin to speculate: What did I do to drive him/her them away? Did I love him/her them enough? Did I smother him/her? Will I ever trust him/her again? Will our relationship ever be the same? What does the other person have that I don’t?

After a while your health can suffer and your performance at work can suffer.

And then it starts to affect others.

Your children can become aware that something is “wrong with Mommy and Daddy”, and they too can feel insecurity, anxiety, fear, sleeplessness…

And they too will begin to speculate.

Infidelity hurts the whole family…especially innocent children.

And it destroys the safety and sanctity your home.

I have been a private investigator for over fifteen years and have conducted many domestic investigations, performed many background checks, and conducted many, many hours of surveillance.

Throughout the years, I have become sensitive to the “red flags” that may indicative that someone in a relationship was being unfaithful.

Also, please note that I am not an attorney and am not providing legal advice. When in doubt, check with your attorney or other legal advisor –especially in matters regarding your partner’s privacy.

So, let me share with you number of subtle (and not-so-subtle) clues that you should be aware of, if you suspect that your partner is being unfaithful.

While none of these “red flags” automatically mean you are being deceived, they should be regarded as possible indicators of deceit, to determine if further investigation is warranted.

Usually, the thing that will tip you off is a change in behavior.

So, let’s look at just a few of the behaviors that you might observe, if your loved one was being unfaithful:

Behavior At Home: Your partner or spouse…

¨ Appears distant, show a lack of interest or develop an unexplained aloofness

¨ Is frequently tired or lack interest in the relationship

¨Comes home smelling of an unfamiliar fragrance

¨Wears perfume/cologne much more often than usual

¨Arrives home and heads straight into the shower/bath

¨Gets dressed up a little too well (to) for trips to the grocery or running some other kind of errand or menial task

¨Begins to speak more and more harshly to you, or are more sarcastic. Sometimes this is just an attempt to justify their cheating…or to give them an excuse to storm out of the room/house

¨Asks about your schedule more often than usual

¨Develops an increased focus on losing weight or pays more attention to their appearance

¨Stops wearing his/her wedding ring and, when asked, can’t give a reasonable explanation

Romance: Your partner or spouse…

¨Is no longer interested in sex, or he/she makes excuses for its infrequency.

¨Starts to request kinky or other erotic sexual activity (behavior) that you’ve never done before, including watching porn

¨Shows a “new talent” in the bedroom …

The unravelling of the Zionist project

The unravelling of the Zionist project

By Stanley Collymore

There’s an old English saying that what goes around ultimately comes around; and this is no truer than in the case of the Zionist Palestinian project. Instigated under a number of blatantly dishonest and financially corrupt guises the two most iniquitous of these being that Palestine was a land without people and as such quite ideal for a much persecuted people without land, namely the white Caucasian Europeans who invaded and now overwhelmingly occupy it, to it being the ancestral home of Jews going well back into antiquity, the project even before its officially recognized inception with the Balfour Declaration was conceived and intentionally based on the sadistic concepts of genocide, brutal ethnic cleansing, racial eradication and the holocaust of the indigenous Palestinian people; afterwards morphing predominantly with the active help of the very people who were instrumental in the European holocaust into a classic colonialist and imperialistic entity that effectively saw the illegitimate Zionist and apartheid state of Israel become a wild west version of a shotgun outrider for western and in particular United States economic and hegmonistic interests and control in the Middle East.

Of course we’re all used to the ludicrous idea so ingrained in the psyche of many Caucasians and their rulers that nothing ever really existed until discovered by the white man. Therefore Australia was terra nullius never mind that the Aborigines had lived there continuously for in excess of 60,000 years; the unilaterally renamed Victoria Falls simply didn’t exist at all until Livingstone taken as a guest at the request of the local chief to see them clapped his eyes on them and promptly had them named after his queen in England; and of course the again white renamed Americas only came into existence when some of their major outlying islands like Hispaniola, better known nowadays as Haiti and the Dominican Republic, were discovered but more aptly run into by Christopher Columbus.

That the entire region, or as it was arrogantly and stupidly seen entirely from the white man’s perspective as the New World, was already well populated with the indigenous people there already having their own established systems of government and even empires counted for absolutely nothing; the supercilious attitude being that these weren’t Caucasian and therefore didn’t matter in the least. So it’s not at all surprising that today’s white descended Caucasians have the same mindset as their erstwhile ancestors and regrettably for them with apartheid in South Africa having officially collapsed the overriding and even obsessive emphasis on their part is one which is all the more committed to ensuring that their Zionist project in Palestine prevails. The problem for them though is that it’s now falling apart.

That they were never going to be able to sustain it indefinitely in the first place and moreover do so in a world that is increasingly and even quite rapidly becoming smaller everyday as a direct consequence of modern communications systems, easy global travel, …

My Experiences with an Irish Banshee

Posted on Posted in travel

Oh the Banshee, I could write a book on her or it or whatever it is. Growing up in Ireland, all children were petrified and if the truth be told a tiny bit attracted to the Banshee. It is said that she is a harbinger of doom, if her awful wails are heard, somebody in the house will die within the week, if she herself is seen the watcher themselves will die within the week. A frightening prospect, often as a wee boy I heard the awful screeching in the middle of the night, followed by a horrific rattling on the slates. Was the terrible wench on the roof? In the sober morning, I would be reassured by my fellow breakfasters that it was nothing more than cats screeching, but, I would counter, the sound I heard was not a cat, I knew what a cat sounded like and it did not sound like this. Cats! They would boom. Simply cats having sex! And that was supposed to settle me. Of course, it didn’t, nights would drag on with the floozy screeching her lament, I was torn with the dreadful urge to peek out the window at her but knowing the legend, I dared not do so. The thing is though, nobody ever died in my house, she wailed on and on and nobody ever kicked it, nor a neighbour, nobody ever died, we all were in full health, all in fine fettle and the best of spirits. Did our banshee not work? Or were my narky breakfasters correct, was it simply cats having sex? And if so, were they not enjoying it? I mean it sounded like they were murdering one another. Anyway, I was still of the mind that the wail was that of the banshee, for no living creature, not human nor cat could vocalise that hideous drone. I asked at school, again however I was scoffed at. ’What’s your name?’ they asked me. ‘Russell Shortt,’ I replied. ’Well there you go?’ they countered. ’What?’ I asked puzzled. ’Banshees only appear to O’Neills. O’Briens, O’Connors, O’Gradys and Kavanaghs, everybody knows that,’ they laughed. And so it seems, that the banshee belongs to a family, she is more like an eccentric great aunt than a horrific entity. Bizarrely, she was owned, I felt cheated, I mean she was stressing me out at night, but I still didn’t feel happy about the idea that she belonged to somebody else, I guess that I had kind of got used to having her around, I mean we had developed a type of relationship, not the most orthodox one I grant you but a relationship nonetheless. I began to summon the idea that I needed to get a glimpse of her, even if it meant risking my life, I needed to assure my mind that she was wailing for me. It was a dangerous train of thought, but I had heard her now over a dozen times and nobody had died so …
